Ascendant calculator: find your rising sign

The Ascendant, or rising sign, is the sign that was rising on the eastern horizon at the moment you were born. It describes the way you step into the world — the first impression, the manner, the door others see before they see the house.

Why the exact time matters

The Sun stays in one sign for a month. The Ascendant moves through a whole sign in about two hours. Born at 7:00 or at 9:30 can mean a different rising sign.

The Ascendant also sets the houses — the twelve areas of life. That is why a wrong time shifts not one thing, but the whole map.

Without a birth time

Then the Ascendant simply cannot be known, and the app does not guess it. It leaves the Ascendant and the houses out and says so. A made-up rising sign is worse than none.

If you can, look at your birth certificate or ask the people who were there. Even an approximate time narrows it down.
